Popcorn Typing rewards both correct keys and completed words. Facilities provide a separate source of income. Understanding those three contributions helps you choose what to upgrade when the next container feels slow.
Start without knowing the Japanese menus
Press ▶ はじめる (Start), then copy the Latin-letter prompt. Key 1, labelled レベルUP, buys a level. Key 2, 施設購入, buys a facility. Key 3, 品種研究, researches a variety. If you use a Japanese IME, turn it off while playing. These controls are also clickable buttons.
The prompts are Japanese words or phrases written for romaji input. The game does not provide English definitions or pronunciation lessons. Treat it as practice typing the displayed letter sequences, and use a separate learning resource if you want to study their meanings.
Keep the combo, but finish the word
The combo multiplier becomes ×2 after 10 correct keys, ×3 after 25, ×4 after 50, ×6 after 100 and ×10 after 200. One mistake resets the count to zero and returns the multiplier to ×1. A slower pace can be worthwhile if it keeps a streak intact, but the ideal speed depends on how often you make mistakes.
In normal mode, output per correct key is variety output × level × combo multiplier. Completing a prompt pays an additional bonus: its kana-string length × the per-key output at completion × 5. Kana length and the number of Latin-letter keystrokes are different.
For example, a two-kana word at base variety, level 1 and a ×1 combo gives a completion bonus of 10 kernels, in addition to the kernels already earned from typing its romaji. Pressing Enter skips the current word. It does not undo kernels earned from correct keys, but it gives no completion bonus.
Levels and varieties change manual output
The starting variety gives a base output of 1. Caramel costs 2,500 and gives 15; Truffle Salt costs 250,000 and gives 350; Solid Gold costs 20 million and gives 9,000. Those are base values before level and combo multipliers. Further gold-variety research doubles its output.
Compare the cost of your next level with the time needed to save for the next variety. Research gives a large jump, but buying smaller upgrades can improve earnings while you save. There is no single purchase order established by these values alone.
What facilities do while you are away
Seven facility types range from a frying pan producing 1.5 kernels per second to Popcorn World producing 1,200. Each purchase makes the next of that type 18% more expensive. The button prioritizes the cheapest affordable unowned type, then the highest-tier affordable type if no unowned type is affordable.
When you return after closing the game, offline income is credited at 50% of your facility rate for up to eight hours. With only one base frying pan, eight hours away gives 1.5 × 0.5 × 28,800 = 21,600 kernels. That is an example before the post-clear production multiplier.
Containers and saving
There are 16 named containers. Filling one pays half its capacity as a reward. Filling the universe unlocks a ×100 replay mode; containers beyond the named list grow by a factor of eight. The game saves locally every five seconds. Clearing its site data removes that save.
